Learn About Your Pest
Understanding your pest's biology, life cycle, and habits can help you control your current pest problems and prevent the pest from becoming a problem again in the future. Put your new knowledge to work with these tips in mind:
- Focus on the most vulnerable stage in the life cycle. For example, mosquito larvae need standing water to survive.
- Eliminate food sources for pests. For example, immature fleas need to eat dander that falls from your pet. Vacuum often to remove it.
- Block entry points or travel patterns. For example, subterranean termites eat wood, but live in soil. Make it hard for them to go back and forth.
